"How can deconstructed second-hand jeans make people rethink labels, gender and sexuality?" The collection BROEKRIEMKE consists of 8 unisex outfits which were created by deconstruction, moulage and material experiments. The jeans are a metaphor for what is considered normal. I stretch the borders of this iconic garment and ignore the common rules. By letting the jeans speak, I give them a second life. What if the jeans wants to be a dress or jacket? I question normality and create awareness of compartmentalization. Besides being visually attractive, the garments are on the same hand conversation-starters which encourage the discussion on genderfluïdity and sexuality.
