SPACE
When I use the word space, I mean the gap between the observer and their surroundings, The emptiness that plays a game with your perspective, the area that makes it possible to move. That thing you can’t see, until it is defined.
We use all sorts of transport to move our self quickly from a to b. More often we us digital communication what gives us the opportunity to share a message without even leaving our seat. Due to this fast communicate system we tend to forget the real space and distance. An attempt is made to contain the space by numbers and facts.
My fascination for space did not develop of these measurable facts. It is the space described on top that intrigues me. An intangible dimension that you can only see when it is limited. A word without an unambiguous meaning. A place that is shaped by everyone’s personal interpretation.
With my work I go back to this space and try to dissect the different layers of the concept of ‘space’

Collecting Space is a project with which I make space visible. It shows a collection of beach balls, bottles and
other airtight packaging. All these objects are personally filled by different participants with space from different

Where is the space around us?
